Mountain Lake with Irises and a Dock

Zanna Smith

This acrylic painting depicts a still mountain lake at dawn or dusk, with mist over layered blue-green ridges, dark evergreens flanking both shores, and a weathered dock running into the water at lower left. A dense clump of purple and yellow irises occupies the near right bank, painted in short loaded strokes.
