How can you overcome missing someone who died?
Zanna Smith
Trust that the horrid sensations associated with missing someone will gradually diminish over time, but understand that loss of any kind is not a step by step process. It is more like the waves formed when something is dropped into a pond. The waves of pain return, but as the loss becomes more integrated into your being, their strength lowers.

Missing someone is not something to overcome, but to change in its meaning within you. If it helps, have an imaginary conversation with the person (or pet), or write a letter, or journal. I also just scribble, and take crayons and let my emotion come through my hand. Or dance. (Or scream with the seagulls.)
