Two Fish in a Swirling Current

Zanna Smith

This acrylic painting depicts two orange-and-blue fish circling one another inside a churn of cobalt, violet, and gold, with a broad white arc of foam sweeping between them. The paint is applied thickly and gesturally, so the water and the fish share the same restless surface.
