Blue and Magenta Winter Trees

Zanna Smith

This mixed media drawing in oil pastel or crayon with ink depicts a stand of bare trees, their trunks and branches drawn in vivid blue, magenta, and black over a scumbled ground of green, yellow, and pale blue. The scribbled linework describes the tangle of winter branches without settling into a single contour.
