How can you meditate when you can't even sit for few minutes without thinking of anything? When I sit for meditation I feel sleepy. Why does this happen?

Instead of trying to adopt a specific pose and still the mind, try movement, like walking, and even for a few moments being totally aware of your senses. Or dancing. Or drawing circles or spirals in sand, water, or air. Or … I think you get the idea. Sometimes our brains don’t ever “shut down,” and it’s best to use micro-meditation, only a few minutes.

I think you get the idea. Sometimes our brains don’t ever “shut down,” and it’s best to use micro-meditation, only a few minutes. Visualize something you love to smell (pleasant aroma is a great quieter), and gently, slowly breathe it in. Then another breath and pretend to take this to the nape of your neck, where a mama cat picks up her kitten. This can reduce stress in many situations, and is a practice I use whenever I need to give myself a 2-minute break.
