How can I live a happy life without considering medication?
Zanna Smith
Happiness is not well defined. You need to define it for yourself. And that definition changes as you experience life. With or without medication, happiness comes when we are at peace with ourselves, which is difficult if your expectations are too high (idealism and perfectionism), as you know. I find happiness in the smallest things.

With or without medication, happiness comes when we are at peace with ourselves, which is difficult if your expectations are too high (idealism and perfectionism), as you know. I find happiness in the smallest things. I savor what my senses bring me, the sound of birds in the morning, the glorious changing movements of clouds, the smell of cookies baking. Finding tiny moments in any day which I can savor has helped me through serious pain, illness, depression, and grief.
Happiness is not a continuous thing, but moments you hold and remember. And when your remember an event, look back at it and remember the positives. This will go back into your memory with less darkness and more light, so the next time it will not be as depressing or cause as much anxiety.
