I’ve been meditating and watching my thoughts for a while. I tried meditating without any focus on anything and experienced strange sensation in brain -like waves running throughout. Why? What this is?
Interesting brain, isn’t it? Just let things be without judging whether or not it is good, bad, enjoyable, worrisome. It’s like walking through an art gallery. At first you may make a judgment or have a reaction. A moment. Then the next moment you think, “That’s interesting,” and move on.

How can you overcome missing someone who died?
Trust that the horrid sensations associated with missing someone will gradually diminish over time, but understand that loss of any kind is not a step by step process. It is more like the waves formed when something is dropped into a pond. The waves of pain return, but as the loss becomes more integrated into your being, their strength lowers.

What is your sure fire way to meditate?
Sure fire? Not quite. But generally the simplicity of watching something in nature, like waves crashing, or a waterfall, or the pine tree outside my room, swaying in the breeze. And when that’s not possible, simply focusing on my breathing.
